Woman losses life as Icy hits U.S central

According to Newsweek,A winter storm bringing icy rain to the Great Plains and Midwest claimed the life of a Missouri woman on Friday, prompted the delay of an NFL football game and threatened power outages and treacherous conditions throughout the weekend.
Ice, freezing rain and winter storm warnings were in effect from the Texas panhandle north into Iowa and east through central Indiana, the Weather Service said in an advisory, and both Missouri and Oklahoma had declared sta
The storm's first known casualty was Tiffany Jackson, 31, of Crystal City, Missouri, who police said lost control after driving too fast on an icy overpass. Her vehicle slid off the road and struck multiple trees, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said, causing her to die at the scene.
Forecasters warned that ice accumulation from the storm could be more than half an inch (1 cm), creating slick roadways especially on bridges and overpasses, and possibly causing scattered power outages across the region, the service said.
The National Football League postponed the start time of a divisional playoff game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers in Kansas City from around noon local time on Sunday to 7:20 pm, when conditions are expected to ease, the Chiefs said on the team's website.
In St. Louis, the Cardinals baseball team canceled Saturday's first day of its three-day "Winter Warm-Up" fan event, a benefit for youth baseball leagues and other organizations supported by the team, citing weather concerns.
On Thursday, Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin declared a state of emergency for the entire state.
"Emergency personnel are coordinating with state and local officials to ensure we are ... ready for whatever comes our way," said Fallin.
A handful of public schools, government offices and universities in Idaho, Oklahoma and other parts of the central region were shut down on Friday or had delayed openings due to the impending storm.
Parts of the region could also see as much as 3 inches (8 cm) of snow later in the weekend, according to the forecast.
“The best thing to do when it's icy is stay home,” the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management said, adding that those who do venture out should heed the advice: “Ice and snow, take it slow.”

Trump wahala!!!Don John's portable toilet all cover up

“We knew they were being covered up, because we’re delivering them there every night and they saw it. We wondered who was doing it. Now we know,” an employee of the company told The Post.
Company COO Rob Weghorst told NBC News he wasn’t happy about the cover-up.
“We like to have our names on our units,” he said, adding that he instructed his crews to take the tape down.
The Twitterverse went wild as wags cracked wise.
“Is Don’s Johns where he goes to take his golden showers?” wrote BluePixie, referring to the unsubstantiated claims that Trump enjoyed such perversions in a Russian hotel.
“Will Don’s Johns have gold plated thrones for the inauguration? “ tweeted Russ Panneton.
“Don’s Johns. You can’t make this crap up. Guess they’re worried about something else smelling up the swamp,” added Good Day LA.
They are covering up the don’s on the don’s johns portajohns for the inauguration. Hey call them trump’s rumps instead,” wrote Drew McQuade. ‏
“Don’s Johns. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA,” was all PaganChild had to say.
But some users were peed off, and seized on the story to blast the media.
“We don’t need MSM. Moronic anti-Trump fake news consumers assume the Trump team had anything to do with the decision of Don’s Johns to cover their name,” fumed GodlessNZ.
The company’s name is still clearly visible upon close inspection, but is blocked for a wide-angle view by a TV or still camera.
The inauguration will take place on the west side of the Capitol facing the National Mall.
Portable toilets set up on the east side, near Senate office buildings, do not have taped-over logos, yet at least.
Don’s Johns says on its website that it has provided portable toilets for many large events in Washington, including the 2009 inauguration ceremony for President Barack Obama. The company’s logos were visible during that event.
According to its website, Don’s Johns provides “ a wide selection of portable rest rooms from which our customers may choose is important. We currently offer the largest selection in the Maryland, Virginia Washington Metropolitan area of portable restroom rentals.”
The Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies and the Presidential Inaugural Committee had no immediate comment Friday.
A spokeswoman for the president-elect did not immediately respond to a question about whether Team Trump was behind the effort.

At where Government bans weeding for lavish spending.Bbc

Bbc reported a Somali town has banned lavish weddings to encourage young people to marry and stop them migrating.
Receptions in hotels would no longer be allowed and only three goats could be slaughtered to feed guests, Beled Hawa's commissioner told the BBC.
Spending limits of $600 (£500) on furnishings for a couple's new home and up to $150 for the bride price had also been set, Mohamud Hayd Osman said.
It is not unusual for a groom's family to spend about $5,000 on a wedding.
The BBC Somali service's Bashir Mohamed says this amount includes the bride price, wedding reception, outfits and jewellery for the bride as well as new furniture.
"Islamic teachings indicated that getting married should be cheap," Mr Osman told the BBC Somali service.
The decision to restrict spending on "wild partying" and other expenses had been taken after officials met to find out why 150 children had recently been born out of wedlock in the town.
"Young women were refusing to get married unless a fortune was spent on wedding gold and household furnishings," he said.
Times were already difficult in Beled Hawa, which neighbours Kenya, because of the drought and unemployment - and the high cost of weddings was another contributing factor in people leaving the area, the commissioner said.
"A young woman must be supported to get married to the young man she chooses... so the community can grow," he said.
He said $600 should be enough to purchase a double bed, table and chairs as well as crockery and cutlery.
Traditionally the events around a Somali wedding go on for seven days.

Trump legalize sport betting

Fox published Casino industry lobbyists are betting that President-elect Donald Trump’s history as a casino magnate and opportunistic businessman is the key to reversing the decades-old federal ban on sports betting.Wagering on sports has effectively been illegal since 1992, when the federal government passed the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, or PAPSA. At present, only four states – Nevada, Delaware, Oregon and Montana – are allowed to offer sports betting.
The case for a legalized sports betting industry subject to taxation and federal or state regulation has strengthened in recent years, due in large part to public support from prominent figures like NBA Commissioner Adam Silver. Advocates are calling for Trump, with his background as a casino owner in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, to add his voice to the debate.
“We are entering a perfect storm of interests among broadcasters, among owners of individual sports teams, we have what’s clearly been 25 years of a failed law,” Geoff Freeman, president and CEO of the American Gaming Association, told FOXBusiness.com. “And now we have a president who is quoted as recently as a about year ago on [FOX Sports radio host] Colin Cowherd’s show talking about the failed law that we have today and the benefits of regulation. I think we have everything coming together to support a regulated environment.”

Iraqi storm northerneast mosul

Reuter news reported Iraqi special forces stormed a sprawling university complex in northeast Mosul on Friday and pushed Islamic State back in nearby areas to reach two more bridges across the Tigris River, the military said.
The militants were fighting back at Mosul University, which they seized when they took over the city in 2014. A Reuters reporter saw heavy clashes inside the campus.
Iraqi forces have now recaptured most districts in eastern Mosul, nearly three months into a U.S.-backed offensive, which accelerated at the turn of the year with new tactics and better coordination.
They aim to take full control of the eastern bank of the Tigris, which bisects Mosul from north to south, before launching attacks on the western side still fully in Islamic State hands.
Driving the ultra-hardline Islamist group out of its Mosul stronghold will probably spell the end for the Iraqi side of the caliphate it declared in 2014 which stretches into Syria.
By late on Friday, elite Iraqi forces had taken control of part of the university complex and reached two more of the five bridges that link east and west Mosul, said Sabah al-Numan, spokesman for the counter-terrorism service (CTS).
"God willing, in a very short while we will announce the clearing of the entire left bank ... There are not many areas left (under IS control) on this bank," he told state television.
Iraqi forces have now reached Mosul's three southernmost bridges, having battled their way to the Fourth Bridge several days ago.

The U.S.-led coalition that is backing the offensive with air strikes, training and advice praised Friday's advances.

“I am now free to travel. I have been handed back my passport.

“If Lee told you that she is single, then, she is single, respect that. I am not single. I am well spoken for.”
