According to h-metro,Two employees from MC Meats Private Limited have been arrested on allegations of stealing meat worth US$90 from their employer.
Laiza Kapundanga, 27, and Wilson Chakaipa, 27, pleaded not guilty when they appeared before Mbare magistrate Stanford Mambanje charged with theft.
They were granted US$30 each and the matter has been deferred to January 23 for trial.
the State’s case that on December 19 last year, Kapundanga allegedly took five kilogrammes of oxtail meat and five kilogrammes of commercial steak and hid it in her locker.
The State also alleges that Chakaipa also took one kilogramme of sausage and hid it in his locker.
The pair was arrested after a random search was made by the security guards on December 20 who discovered the stolen meat in the lockers.
The total value of stolen meat is US$90 and it was recovered.
